TraumaClinic offers an opportunity for
students in Psychology to gain unique and ground breaking
practical experience in the field of psychological trauma.
Students work under the guidance and supervision of
our registered psychologists. A number of different
placements are possible based at our head office in
South African Students
Traumaclinic offers four internship positions
per year for students with an accredited Honours degree
in Psychology or Social Work, looking to gain practical counselling experience. These internships are for a period of 12 months on a
part-time basis, from January to December every year. Applications open around September and close in November for the following year.
Please note, TraumaClinic's Internship no longer qualifies you to write the Registered Counsellor Exam with the HPCSA.
Internships are available for international students
for periods of three to ten months. This is an ideal
opportunity to experience the vibrant city of Cape Town
while gaining experience in the field of psychological
trauma. Placements are mainly in community projects
and schools. The practical experience is balanced by
theoretical input and regular supervision by internationally
acclaimed specialists in Trauma Psychology.
